Darrell Lee

Darrell Lee is the main host of video segments on SouthernWayTV.com. Darrell also scores all of the original music you hear in every episode.

A native of Louisiana, Darrell most recently spent many years working at Mississippi Public Broadcasting in a variety of roles. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Jackson State University in Mass Communications and Speech and Dramatic Arts and a Master’s degree in Communications from Mississippi College. Darrell is currently finishing a second Master’s degree in Elementary Education.

When Darrell is not exploring the culture of the American South (notably, he has a love of any dish with crawfish in it), he enjoys creating new music.

Mike Mitchell

Mike Mitchell is the main producer and a contributing host of video segments on SouthernWayTV.com. Mike also creates most of the visuals and animations used in each online episode.

Mike is a “transplant” to the American South, having grown up on a farm in Indiana. Over the years, however, the charms of Southern culture have led him to continue to call this part of the country his home. A former classroom teacher, Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and a Master’s degree in School Administration from Indiana University. Mike also holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business’ Executive MBA program.

Mike has a German Shepherd – named King – that is the focus on a lot of his spare time.
